Today the final Report for the Ockenden Review came out. It has been a hard day.
I'm lighting this candle for you today sweetheart, but also for all the other babies whose lives were tragically lost but could have been saved.
For the Mothers who also lost their lives.
For the children and their families now living with horrendous lifelong disabilities due to errors made during their births.
For the Mothers who know how incredibly lucky they were to bring their baby home as they came so close to that not being the case, or to them not being so healthy, but who live with the trauma of their births every day.
And for the midwives, those who tried to raise concerns but were seen themselves as the problem, those who have bravely spoken out to the Ockenden Review team despite being told they must keep quiet.
I am thinking of you and all of them tonight ❤ xxxxx
