Hello Baby Girl, Mummy has had her first week off work this week but I've been busier than I am at work! We have a very busy weekend and week ahead too before your baby sister comes along. Yesterday we had a scan with Dr Mohajer, the Consultant who specialises in turning babies as she is still not head down, in fact she is back in her original position now of lying transverse across Mummy's tummy! It must be very comfy for her there. The Consultant is a lovely lady just like our own Consultant Dr Hodgett, and she put our minds at rest quite a lot by answering all our questions and helping us to understand the procedure. After scanning me and checking my waters volume, baby's position and also the shape of my womb and where my placenta is etc. she was able to tell us she was very confident she can move her easily and most importantly safely with a 75% and above chance of it working. She also confirmed there was no obvious reason why she wasn't going had shown, nothing like a heart shaped womb or anything like that stopping her, which was a relief. We have therefore booked an appointment for next Thursday 4th December at 2:45pm to have the ECV procedure done, when Dr Mohajer will try to gently coax baby to turn herself ready for induction. Depending on how we feel afterwards, i.e. whether we are then worried about her because we've been messing, and providing of course the procedure is successful, we have the option of going home and going back in on Saturday morning to be induced as planned, or staying in hospital and bringing the induction forward to Friday. It could even be brought forward to the Thursday if needs be, if Dr Mohajer thinks there is a chance she will turn back transverse again if left too long. We will have to therefore take our hospital bags with us on Thursday in case I don't end up coming back out again! I can't believe we are so close to having her now, and yet I still struggle to see past the labour and birth and imagine her being alive and well in my arms. I'm preparing for her arrival but at the same time I feel a little numb about it, like I daren't really believe she's coming home in case that doesn't happen again. I have so much to do between now and Thursday but at least it's keeping me busy so I can't think about it all too much. If the ECV is not successful we will have to have the ceasarean the week after, but I think the chances are very high that we will be able to be induced next week and have her then. Guess what else we found out at the scan yesterday? Your baby Sister has lots of hair just like you! I always knew she would have but it was great to be told it was definitely the case! We could actually see it all floating about around her head on the scan and everybody in the room commented on it all at once when they saw it! :) Mummy and Daddy have a birth partner's antenatal class in the morning so Daddy can learn how to support and look after me in labour, although of course he doesn't want to go! He's going to try and find a real Christmas tree afterwards while I go to my antenatal check up appointment, as Mummy really wants the tree and decorations up before we go in on Thursday so we can bring baby home to a festive house. Then we've got our three friends' 50th birthday party in the pub in Stourbridge tomorrow night. On that note Mummy had best try to get some sleep ready for a busy day ahead! I love you to the moon and back Baby Girl, I really wish you were around to coo over your baby Sister when she arrives xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
