Lit by Mummy xxxxx 7th February 2014
Hi Baby Girl, We have something very exciting to tell you sweetheart, though we're sure you already know, but ... Mummy and Daddy are getting married!!! We are so happy and excited, and I can't wait to become your Daddy's wife. He asked me last Saturday but we had a few people to tell first before we made it public on here, like your Big Sister Faye, who is really happy about it and can't wait to be a bridesmaid! I just wish you could have been involved too and been a flowergirl toddling down the aisle with your cousin Amelia, you would have looked so beautiful. You are going to be with us on the day though sweetheart, because we are getting married on Midsummer's Day! We met our vicar this morning from our local village Church, the only place I want us to say our vows, and Midsummer's Day was available and he said he would be delighted to marry us then, so it's booked! I can't believe it! I kept thinking to myself if it's meant to be, the Church will be free, and it is :) We have also booked a marquee and a hog roast for our reception which we are holding at home in our garden, we will plant wildflowers along the hedgerows to make it pretty, and we hope to have a band too. We want it to be a low key but gorgeous country garden party themed wedding, with yellow as our colour scheme of course, and beautiful bright summer flowers everywhere. Everyone will remember it for all the right reasons, for all the love in the air! Daddy proposed to me in bed on Saturday morning while we had a lovely cuddly long lie in and after a good talk about our future, he made me the promises I needed to hear, and then he proved to me beyond all doubt that he meant every word by asking me to become his wife. He didn't have a ring ready yet, he said it just felt like the right time to ask me, and it definitely was. We went to the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham on the Sunday and chose the ring together, we chose a white gold (to match your ashes pendant) diamond cluster ring with seven diamonds in it which add up to one carat and make up a star shape. It's very different to the ones I was trying on, and much bigger too! But Daddy liked it and pointed it out and once I got it on my ring finger I fell in love with it too, the star shape reminds us of you and it's absolutely perfect, so beautiful and sparkly! When we got back from Birmingham we went for a walk up to our spot on the Cliffe, where we released your balloons on your first birthday, and Daddy got down on bended knee and proposed to me properly. What he said took my breath away, it was such a special moment in my life Baby Girl. Your Daddy and I have been to hell and back, but we've been there together, we've helped each other through it, and we've come out the other end stronger than ever. We're never going to get over you, or forget you, but we are starting the rest of our lives together and we intend to make the most of it, you never know what is round the corner, Lord knows we have learnt that. I washed your blanket for the first time today sweetheart, I felt it was time, so you smell lovely to cuddle again. Your marks actually didn't wash out though, just the dirt from the last thirteen months, which I was really pleased about! We wiped the 'we're having a baby!' off the chalkboard in the kitchen too, we want any new baby to be just that, a new one. That chaulk scribble was yours and yours alone. We've replaced it with 'we're getting married!'. This Midsummer's Day, Saturday 21st June 2014 I will become your Daddy's wife, Faye's Stepmum, and we will all become a proper family together. I will become Mrs Dawson and share the same name as the rest of you, something I have wanted for a long time but especially since you were born. My own little family, not perfect because you will always be missing in person even though you will always be with us in spirit, but my own little family all the same. When I walk down the aisle to your Daddy, it will feel like I'm finally coming home. The vicar told us today about how our love has already created the miracle of eternal life, I thought that was beautiful. But then that is you isn't it Baby Girl, beautiful. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
