I came across this short poem today that I had penned last May in anticipation of telling our loved ones our fabulous baby news. We never used it, as we told everyone in person, but I had still kept it and finding it today reminded me of just how overwhelmingly magical life was back then, and how naive we were to the fact that something could go wrong. I miss my Baby Girl so much, and now I'm so overwhelmingly sad that it's hard to believe we will ever feel so happy again. "We can’t believe we’re saying this, we can’t believe it’s true, But we have some rather special news we’d like to share with you, After quite some time of trying, through some laughter and some crying, We’ve finally made the baby for which we have been dying! Girl or boy we do not know, and the suspense for us is fine, We like the thought of a surprise, when the cord is cut at Christmastime, For now though we're content, revelling in our merriment, Just knowing that “we’re pregnant” and it must be heaven sent!" You really were heaven sent Baby Girl, though only heaven lent, because you were born an Angel xxxxx
