I am with my Mummy today. Daddy, Faye and I had our Mothers Day last Sunday with Nanny Di. Daddy bought me a card that said Mother on it with a huge pink butterfly, and Faye wanted that to be from both of you this year instead of her giving me a separate card saying Someone Special, that was so nice. She came in our bedroom with my card and presents and said 'Happy Mothers Day Mum' and she asked me if she could call me Mum from now on, I was really touched and of course I said yes. She tried it out at every opportunity all day after that bless her!
Her real Mummy isn't very happy about that though and has told Faye as much, so even if Faye really wants to call me Mum she might feel a bit awkward about it after that and decide against it, that would be a real shame. Her Mummy has lived a sheltered life and doesn't understand step Mums and Dads like I do. She probably thinks if Faye calls me Mum then it is taking her away from her, she won't understand that you can have two Mums and it doesn't make your real Mum any less your Mum. Faye looks to me as her second Mum and always will anyway, regardless of what she calls me, but I was touched that she wants to recognise it by calling me Mum. I will just let her know that she is old enough to make that decision on her own and whatever she wants to do will always be fine with me, I love her like my own Daughter and will respect her wishes.
Daddy bought me a beautiful butterfly frame for Mothers Day from you and Faye, and he put a photograph of me and my girls in it for me. I was really touched by that as Daddy has really struggled to look through our photographs of you as it kills him to do so, but he made himself go through them all to find a photograph for me.
He also bought me a butterfly kit for me to grow and then release butterflies! They come as caterpillars and I've to care for them through their caterpillar and chrysalids stages and feed them when they're butterflies and then release them when they are ready, I thought that was yet another thoughtful wonderful gift. I got a beautiful neck scarf too which is grey with pink butterflies and flowers all over it, can you see a theme here? We love butterflies!!
I'm looking forward to seeing Daddy later for a cuddle, I'm missing him lots this weekend.
I love you so so much sweetheart, and I'm thinking about you and miss you terribly on Mothers Day.
